Do not ask loaded questions that he could never give the "right" answer or the answer you may want to listen.

Spend time with him and being there for him physically, mentally and emotionally. Let him know you care him and how his day went, how is friends and family are.

Love him unconditionally and if he makes mistake, forgive and forget.
